I finally decided to start a blog on here. Couldn't decide what I wanted to do it on before, but I finally just bit the bullet and did it. This won't be a daily thing, but I should update it once a week at least.

It's been a pretty good year in sports for me. The Buckeye football team made a surprise run to the title game before falling short again. The Buckeye basketball team is struggling a little and will likely be on the bubble, but it's a lot better than before when a rebuilding year meant 10 wins. The Jags made the playoffs and were a couple of dropped passes away from possibly beating the Patriots. Now they got Gregg Williams as DC and are expected to be players in free agency. I consider them a darkhorse team for next years Super Bowl. The Tigers should be contenders this year. After all the years of losing I would be most happy if they won a championship.

The only bad thing this year is the play of the Bulls. But since I don't really watch much basketball, that's something I won't get into here. I also don't watch hockey, but I still follow the Red Wings.

And finally, NASCAR started their 2008 season with the Bud Shootout last night, and it continues today with front row qualifying for the Daytona 500. I look forward to finally having a favorite driver again this year and watching the 77 Mobil 1 Dodge of Sam Hornish Jr. race around the track.

As a Piston's fan, I have to start by saying that I REALLY HATE the Bulls...for obvious reasons thata go back quite a few years. And you can keep Ben...we don't want him back.

That said...I am a HUGE NBA fan, so I can think things through reasonably when it comes to the game itself. The one thing I don't get is what happened to them? They had a good run last year...seemed like they were on the way up, and now this happens????? I have been really surprised. I don't atch them at all, but is it a injury issue, coaching, or just player motivation?

I think the issue with the Bulls this year is a mixture of all 3. First they quit buying into Skiles' system, which lead to his firing. All year it seems no one has been motivated, possibly because of the Kobe talk earlier in the year. They have no good offensive big man, and the rest of the players are hot and cold shooters. Once they lost their intensity, the fall started.

Lately they've began to play better, even beating Golden State on the road and playing Sacramento tough out there. This is coming while Gordon and Deng are hurt, so I'm hopeful that once everyone's healthy, and maybe they can trade Wallace and start playing the younger big guys who actually seem like they want to play(Noah, Thomas) that they can rebound and at least make the playoffs. That's the positive thing about the East, at this point teams 6-14 are basically interchangable and if anyone can go on a 5 or 6 game run they're right back in position for the playoffs.
